What are your toppers made from?

Our toppers are printed on premium fondant sheets, not wafer paper. Edible images printed on fondant sheets will have more vibrant colour and crisper lines than those printed on wafer or rice paper. Fondant sheets also meld into the frosted surface of a cake, giving a professional look. 

Do the toppers come precut? Or will I need to cut them out myself?

When you order any cupcake toppers, they will all come cut to size, ready to use. If you order any larger cake toppers, you will receive your selected design printed on fondant, However it will not be trimmed to size. All you need to do is cut it to your desired size using a clean pair of scissors. We do this to allow you more flexibility. It you decide you would like a blank border around your design, or that it needs to be a little smaller, you can trim the topper to your needs. Though if you would like your design recut to the specified dimensions in the listing, add this to the notes during checkout and we can do that for you. 

How do I use a cake topper?

Toppers are very simple to use. Simply trim the design (if need be) and then carefully remove the plastic backing from the fondant, and place on your iced cake, cupcake, cookie or any other dessert. It is as easy as using a sticker! If you're using a topper over fondant or marzipan, very lightly spray the icing with water first to ensure a good adhesion.

What kind of icing can I use?

Our cake toppers can be used on all kinds of frosting, especially buttercream. The toppers can also be used on fondant, marzipan, royal icing, ice cream, chocolate and even poured icings like ganache. 

How do I store my topper?

Store your topper in an airtight container or ziplock bag, in a cool dry place such as the pantry, not the refrigerator. If you store them correctly, they have a shelf life of 12 months. 

The plastic backing is not removing easily, what do I do?

Place the topper in the freezer for 30 seconds, the backing should now come away easily. If it does not, freeze for another 30 seconds.
